ABOUT
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The air pressure inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is increased to a level higher than atmospheric pressure. This allows your lungs to gather more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.
The increased oxygen levels in the blood have several therapeutic effects -promoting healing, reducing inflammation, enhancing the body’s natural defense mechanisms against infection, and stimulating the growth of new blood vessels.
HBOT sessions typically last for about 60 to 90 minutes and require multiple sessions depending on the condition being treated.
